Expensive Rice Cookers – Zojirushi NP-HTC10 Review

Do you know what the most expensive rice cooker sold in across Canada today is? The Zojirushi NP-HTC10 and NP-HTC18 both cost over $400. They are the top of the range models that Zojirushi sells outside Japan. And just so that you know, Zojirushi make the most expensive rice cookers so these two products are the highest cost models of any brand. What do you get for your money? Is it worth it to spend this amount on a rice cooker? These are the questions that I want to answer in this article. Is one of these machines the best rice cooker that you could hope to own? To be honest, if you are able to spend a lot of money on a rice cooker then you will get a machine that is able to make great tasting rice. How much you decide to spend is really a personal decision. This article is for informational purposes only. I do not advocate spending $400 on a rice cooker. I did not, mine was about $250 and I am very happy with the quality of rice that it produces. Indeed it is the best rice cooker I have ever owned.

All high quality rice cookers now a days include a Micom component. So of course this machine has this. But you can get Micom machines for around $100 so there has to be something else on top of this to make the NP-HTC10 so expensive. You will not be disappointed. It also comes with Zojirushi’s Induction Heating system. But that is not all, it is one of the few Zojirushi machines that also has a pressure cooking function. When all three of these components are combined we get an amazingly high quality device that can produce the best rice you have ever tasted.

Finally, when you look at this rice cooker you cannot fail to be impressed. Its body is made from what Zojirushi call “stainless brown” this is a really attractive stainless steel, despite what the name may lead you to think. If you want the best rice cooker then before dismissing this model out of hand you should check out some reviews to get a bit more information. The price will be prohibitive for many but if you can afford it, why not splash out on the best rice cooker that money can buy?
