Vertigo is the illusion that the environment is moving. It came from the Latin word “Vertere” meaning to turn.  It is a symptom and not a disease by itself. Most people confuse vertigo with dizziness. Vertigo is actually a type of dizziness. There are four types of dizziness. These are: vertigo, presyncope, disequilibrium and light headedness. Among the type of dizziness, vertigo is the worst. It is sometimes referred as movement hallucination.

Vertigo is generally brought about by disorders in the inner ear or in the brain. Vertigo can be a sign that there is a serious problem especially (more…)
